Is there a user limit for each plan?
There is no "hard" user limit. The performance of your Mastodon instance depends on the user activity. The number indicates fast response time and very good user experience.
What is the difference between toot.io and shared hosting providers?
With shared hosting, your Mastodon instance shares the majority of resources, including memory and CPU, with other applications on the host. This can result in a decrease in performance if another application experiences a traffic surge. In contrast, we're using a dedicated server for each Mastodon instance, hence you will get a better performance and reliability. Shared hosting provider also using fixed URLs for images, that means if you leave the provider all links in the Fediverse are broken forever. Instead we're serving your images through your own domain.
Can I choose the hosting location?
Yes, you can choose between US (west, east), Finland, and Germany. Singapore possible per mail request.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, you just need to update the DNS settings at your domain provider. We help you with that.
