"hard" user limit. The performance of your Mastodon instance depends on the user
activity.
The number indicates fast response time and very good user experience.
What is the difference between toot.io and shared hosting providers?
With shared
hosting, your Mastodon instance shares the majority of resources, including memory
and CPU,
with other applications on the host. This can result in a decrease in performance if
another
application experiences a traffic surge. In contrast, we're using a dedicated server
for
each Mastodon instance, hence you will get a better performance and reliability.
Can I choose the hosting location?
Yes, you can
choose between US (west, east), Finland, and Germany.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, you
just need to update the DNS settings at your domain provider. We help you with that.
Which payment methods do you offer?
Currently we
provide credit card payment.
What are the cancellation terms?
You can cancel at any time, with no extra costs in the customer
portal.
Can I change the hosting plan after signup?
Yes you can
up/down-grade whenever you like. Downgrades are only possible when your instance
database fits on the SSD of the smaller instance. Your instance IP address might
change when you downgrade (because we cannot decrease the instance SSD size, we need
to clone your instance to a smaller instance in this case).
Can you provide an invoice?
Yes, you can download the invoice in the customer
portal.
Can you increase the 500 max character limit or the maximum number of poll options?
Yes, just let us know your custom character limit or the maximum number of poll
options.
Is the migration of an existing Mastodon instance from another provider possible?
Yes, we charge a $99 one-time fee. Please get
